MA-NMWA has been invited to join a special event planned for the Fellows of the Harvard Art Museums: a virtual lecture on Women Artists from Antwerp to Amsterdam, 1600-1750, in partnership with and presented by Virginia Treanor, senior curator at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Harvard Art Museums has lent art works from their collection to this important exhibition at NMWA.

Women Artists from Antwerp to Amsterdam, 1600-1750 showcases a broad range of work by more than 40 Dutch and Flemish women artists. The exhibition is a landmark show that chronicles the pivotal role women artists played in the artistic life of the Low Countries during the 17th and 18th centuries. The more than 150 works on view - from paintings and prints to sculpture, embroidery and lace - are a testament to women's participation in nearly all aspects of artistic culture of the era. However, as NMWA reveals, their contributions were often misattributed or overlooked in the annals of art history.

There is no charge to attend this virtual event, but you must register to receive the login details. Registration will be through the Fellows of the Harvard Art Museums, and information on how to register will be shared closer to the date.
